
Dr. med. Silke Biethahn is an FMH-qualified neurologist and recognized specialist in epilepsy and cephalalgia.
Dr. med. Silke Biethahn studied medicine in Göttingen, Copenhagen and London. She completed her neurologist training at Schildautal-Kliniken Seesen (Germany), at Kantonsspital Aarau and at University Hospital Zurich. She then completed her specialist training in epileptology at University Medical Center Freiburg in Breisgau. From 2009 to 2017, she was senior physician at Kantonsspital Aarau. Most recently, she received the additional distinction of mbF (“with special function”) in that role. She was Director of the center for special epilepsy diagnostics in collaboration with the Department of Neurology at University Hospital Basel and was in charge of intraoperative neuromonitoring and cephalalgia consultations.
Dr. Biethahn is a lecturer for the Swiss Society for Clinical Neurophysiology (SGKN) and Swiss Association for the Study of Pain (SGSS). She is President of the Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neuroradiology chapter of the Aargau Medical Association and member of the European Academy of Neurology’s (EAN) expert panel on epilepsy and a board member of the Schweizerische Arbeitsgemeinschaft von Ärzten für Menschen mit geistiger und mehrfacher Behinderung (SAGB).
